In the year 2157, as mega-corporations began colonizing the outer reaches of our solar system, three rogue sound engineers escaped the clutches of SonicCorp, the monopolistic entertainment conglomerate that had standardized all music into algorithm-generated content designed to maximize productivity and consumption.
Devon McIntosh, Matt Brumagin, and Nathan Burnisky met while working in SonicCorp's forbidden archives—a vast underground vault containing music from Earth's past that had been deemed "too provocative" for the modern ear. Tasked with digitizing and then destroying these relics, the three instead became obsessed with the raw emotion and technical prowess found in ancient recordings of bands like Polyphia, Scale the Summit, and Animals as Leaders.
Using salvaged equipment and modified neural interfaces, they began creating their own sonic rebellion in secret maintenance tunnels after curfew hours. When discovered, they narrowly escaped on a supply transport to Mars, where they established "Another Arc"—named for their belief that humanity needed a different trajectory, an alternative arc of evolution that embraced creativity over conformity.
Their music—a blistering fusion of progressive metal complexity and post-punk ethos—quickly spread through the underground networks of the solar system. Their performances, often held in abandoned terraforming stations and decommissioned cargo bays, became legendary for their intensity and the way they seemed to bend the very fabric of reality through sound.

Born in the artificial gravity wells of Europa's underwater colonies, Devon McIntosh was genetically engineered to have enhanced neural processing—a modification intended to create better deep-sea mining operators. Instead, this gift manifested as an uncanny ability to process and create complex musical patterns.
Devon escaped the mining colonies at age 16 by stowing away on a research vessel. The scientists aboard discovered his extraordinary abilities when they found him rewiring their sonar equipment into a primitive guitar. Fascinated, they smuggled him to Earth where he eventually landed a position at SonicCorp as a "sound architecture technician."
His guitar style is characterized by impossible time signatures and finger-tapping techniques so fast they've been known to cause temporary synesthesia in listeners. Devon modified his instrument with quantum-entangled strings that allow notes to exist in multiple states simultaneously, creating harmonics that shouldn't be physically possible.

Nathan Burnisky was a former religious enforcer for the Church of Technological Ascension, a powerful organization that merged religious dogma with technological "enlightenment." As a drummer in the church's ceremonial orchestra, Nathan was augmented with cybernetic limbs to play rhythms meant to induce specific brain states in worshippers.
After discovering the church was using his performances to implant subliminal commands, Nathan sabotaged a major ceremony and fled, eventually finding work at SonicCorp as a rhythm analyst.
His drumming style combines inhuman precision with primal intensity, often playing in multiple time signatures simultaneously. His vocal range was expanded through forbidden genetic modifications, allowing him to hit notes beyond normal human capability.
Nathan's lyrics often explore the conflict between spirituality and dogma, questioning the institutions that seek to control humanity's relationship with the unknown. Matt Brumagin was once the heir to Brumagin Enterprises, one of the seven mega-corporations that control Earth's remaining resources. Raised in orbital luxury, Matt was being groomed to take over the family business when a routine neural enhancement procedure went wrong, leaving him with an unexpected side effect: perfect pitch and an overwhelming compulsion to create music.
Disowned by his family and stripped of his corporate identity, Matt was relegated to working in SonicCorp's lower levels, where his knowledge of corporate structures proved invaluable for the eventual escape of the band.
His writing is centered around melody, providing the emotional foundation that balances the band's technical complexity. His vocals—raspy and intense—were enhanced by experimental nanobots that allow him to produce multiple tones simultaneously, creating harmonies with himself.
Matt's lyrics often draw from his insider knowledge of corporate machinations, exposing the dark underbelly of the system he once was destined to lead. His signature move during performances is to manipulate the electromagnetic field around him, causing nearby electronics to pulse in rhythm with the music.
